We have up to 25 taps at any one time, offering a fantastic range of ale, cider, and craft beer.

About Us

We were the first pub in Brixton to bring a proper beer selection to SW9 over 10 years ago.  Since then we have continually sought the best beers from the best brewers, both locally and from around the world.

Our sister pub the Jolly Butchers in Stoke Newington was one of the very first craft beer bars in London and previously acknowledged as one of the top ten pubs in Britain by The Guardian.

Our open plan kitchen offers hearty pub classics with a twist and we also have kitchen takeovers by one of the exciting new wave of street food chefs. With a large outdoor space, you can enjoy our beautiful terrace and watch the sun go down over Slade gardens with glass in hand.

BOOMA KITCHEN @ THE CROWN & ANCHOR

The coming together of delicious Indian food and great beer & wine

We’re excited to welcome our sister restaurant “Booma” into the “Crown & Anchor”. You can now enjoy our much-loved contemporary North Indian dishes, prepared using traditional techniques and charcoal tandoor ovens, handmade naan breads, all within a relaxed pub setting alongside great local beers and beers and wines from around the world.

Sunday roasts will, of course, continue as usual, with a couple of roast dishes with a Booma twist.

Booma and the Crown & Anchor come together through a shared love of bold flavours, good drinks, and neighbourhood hospitality. This collaboration brings the depth and vibrancy of North Indian cooking into the familiar rhythm of a Brixton pub.

The result is food designed to be enjoyed with a pint or a glass of wine, dishes shaped by spice, smoke and balance, paired thoughtfully with beers and wines that enhance rather than compete. It’s about taking the time-honoured traditions of both pub culture and North Indian cuisine and letting them sit comfortably side by side.
